In 1990, John was sent to the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, a very special assignment for our entire family. The international focus of the school provided life-long contacts in other countries and a unique opportunity to meet many of our nation's best and brightest. This was a very exciting time, still I found time to write a manual for War College families that I understand is now in its seventh printing. In 1991, John was transferred to Special Operations Command in Tampa, Florida. I continued to work in my children's schools, advocate at the legislature and coach soccer.

My knowledge of computer systems, programming, database structure and applications has been especially helpful in my first two terms in the Legislature.
